Switching to Transit and FCV’s New Home

The company I work for, FCV, has finally moved into its new home in busy Downtown and away from trendy Yaletown. The downside is we lose the studio-like feel. For me personally, I’ll have to transit to work from now on or until I say otherwise. For those who know me, I hate taking the bus. Not because I just hate transit. I just don’t like journeying on a bus it to work. Not a great way to start mornings. However, I don’t mind the Seabus that takes me across the Burrard Inlet. At least it’s scenic.

Ah, Translink!

I’ll have to hold out until near the end of March after the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics to figure out if I’ll stick to transiting. So far, Day 1 was smooth. Forgot my headphones though. Arf! There were far too many awkward silent moments that made riding the bus uncomfortable but supposedly that may actually be a good thing. I’d rather prefer a silent ride than a noisy one. I have yet to experience the ‘smelly bus‘ experience I hear so much about on Twitter. Hopefully, North Vancouverites know how to keep a good body hygiene.

FCV’s new building is just across the street from the Seabus’ Waterfront Station. Perfect.

Now for our office. We have the entire floor to ourselves. There’s some renovation still going on in some places and there’s quite a large amount of space and empty pods. That will all change in time.

Actually, I don’t think it will change for lonely Boogie. He got the shaft but with a nice view.
