Vancouver 2010 Mascot Vinyl Figures

Later this January, most Vancouver souvenir shops will be selling Vancouver 2010 Mascot vinyl figures made by Happy Worker. And they are so cute. You’re going to want to pick up more than 1. I’m not sure of the what the pricing is like but I’m hoping it’s low enough for me to stock up on these. Must have!

Guu Garden

Guu recently opened up it’s 7th new restaurant, 5th in Vancouver, Guu Garden. It’s located at Nelson & Hornby, where Okada Sushi use to be. It’s a little hard to find but I guess it’s because of the construction that’s going on at the building they’re in and having an inadequate wooden sign, barely legible that only comes out at night, doesn’t help much either. Once you’ve walked up the stairs, you’ll immediately notice how much more space this restaurant has. It’s definitely not your average cramped Guu restaurant. The interior decoration sticks to the same wooden theme and looks more as a food restaurant than a bar restaurant. As you’ll expect, the atmosphere is the same; however, I find the chef here a little too loud for my liking. Don’t sit at the bar unless you’ll enjoy getting spooked from he chef’s yelling from time to time.

Movies as Cartridge Games

An awesome representation by Penny Design of a few well-known movies turned game cartridges.

I ordered some T-shirts over the holiday break and finally after a few weeks, they’ve arrived!

FCV hosted a Vancouver Canucks game for the company staff to start off the New Year. Our seats were up high on the 5th level at The Penthouse Suites in GM Place. There’s something about the view that makes it easier to watch hockey. You can see easily how a play is going to unfold. Wish I could always sit up here.

Anyway. Today’s photo has nothing to do with the hockey view. You can view it somewhere through my photostream.

Reflection

I made a stop in the washroom in the suite and had to go back in again after because I just had a random urge to take a photo. It’s a small washroom and there was something about it that made me had to take a picture.

Another attempt at my year old New Year’s resolution

This is it. The best last strategy I got against losing some pounds or else it’s working out with my buddy Jeremy. He’ll train me like there’s a war coming tomorrow.

Canadian Tire had some wicked deals on all their exercise equipment. Picked up the Horizon CT5.1 Treadmill. It weighs a tonne! Takes about an hour and a half to put together, depending how well you are with the bolts and the Allen key (argh!).

Another weekend, another trip to IKEA

The weather hasn’t been cooperating. It’s the first Saturday of the New Year. What does everyone do? Go to IKEA, of course.

This is the second time I came across the limited edition BILLY JÄDER bookcase. I figured they’d be out of stock since my last visit. Nope. To my surprise, they still have a good amount left of each kind. Argh! I’m so tempted to buy all 4 of them and storing them away until I move out. They’re just so beautiful and it’d be great to see them all lined up. Who would have ever thought? Me having feelings for a 30-year-old bookcase. Then again, it’s IKEA.

Happy New Year’s!

This year’s New Year’s Eve took place at The Morrissey on Granville. From 8pm till 1am, we had a tremendous amount of great times. Regrettably, I didn’t drag along my Nikon D5000. It would have been a blast snapping pictures with the SB-600. I absolutely love my new external flash but I just don’t think I have the patience to haul around that sort of gear when I’m out both having a good time and having a few drinks.

After we left the watering hole, managed to snap a few pictures of our great hosts, Coco & Jadyn. Can’t thank them enough for their hospitality.
